Dear Dr. Piazza,
Thank you very much for your contribution to Children’s
Fund. Your support helps us continue developing partnerships
to provide services to those who need our help. Children’s
Fund was set up to encourage projects that provide
direct services to children, and those that indirectly
benefit children by improving the lives of their families.
Children’s Fund was established seven years
ago on February 14, 1997. Since that time, we have
made hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants and
have helped improve the lives of thousands of children,
youth, and families in the U.S. and internationally.
For example, we have supported afterschool classes
for young teens living in low-income areas of Maryland
after funding for recreation centers was cut. In California,
we supported a project for teens in a high school to
help promote involvement in community service. In India,
we have helped street children and child laborers over
the last seven years, providing food, clothing and
an opportunity to attend school. We have also supported
job training for young adults, work with lepers and
their families and AIDS patients,. In the Bansoa area
of French-speaking Cameroon, and in the English-speaking
areas as well, we are helping to improve schools. In
Pakistan, we are helping Afghan-refugees, providing
relief supplies and supporting an orphanage. In Costa
Rica, we are supporting a school for children with
disabilities and work with street children.
Thank you for your help as we work to improve the
lives of children in need both in our local neighborhoods
and around the world. Please keep Children’s
Fund in mind in the future when you are looking to
make investments in children. These investments change
lives.
Sincerely yours,
Sherlie Scribner, Ed.D
